Ingredients:
- Ladies Finger - 4 to 5
- Tamarind / Imli - 1 small lemon size
- Soak it in water and keep the essence after squeezing. ( 2 cups)
- Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 1/2 tsp or as required
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chili Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Jaggery / Sugar - 3 tablespoon
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Black gram / Urad Dal - 1/2 teaspoon
- Bengal gram / Chana Dal / Kadala Parippu - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame / Til Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Wheat / Corn powder - 2 teaspoon (for thickening)
- Cut ladies finger into small pieces and keep it aside.
- Heat the oil and splatter Mustard seeds, Black gram and Bengal gram.
- Add ladies finger pieces into it.
- Saute until the texture changes.
- Add tamarind paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, asafoetida, salt and jaggery.
- Boil till it reduces to 1 1/2 cup.
- Mix the wheat powder with 1 tbsp water.
- Add this mixture to the boiling gravy.
- Serve hot with Molakoottal.
